We want to see you! Here are a few tips to help you enjoy your visit to Colfax, one of California’s Sierra gems. Colfax is a rural community. At 2,400 ft in elevation, the weather is very changeable and consistently cooler than the valley. Bring a sweater, coat, and sensible shoes for this Sierra town.
If you are headed to Donner Summit and beyond during the winter, check the weather and consider bringing chains or driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
The summer months are fire season, so if camping, hiking, or boating, please be mindful of fire danger and check campfire regulations.
