More About Colfax Demographics

It is worth noting that while Colfax has a base population of about 2,000 full-time residents, it is on the primary Interstate Highway 80 corridor, which links San Francisco, Sacramento, Tahoe, and Reno Nevada. Colfax is also in a key corridor with many other surrounding communities.

In March 2020, the City of Colfax entered into a 2-year contract with Retail Strategies. Retail Strategies is a retail recruiter. This specialized firm uses mobile data to identify and pursue the best retail opportunities for growing a community. 2020 included ongoing site evaluation, data aggregate analysis, and direct contact with potential retailers for Colfax. (see 12/09/2020 presentation in the City of Colfax City Council Agenda.) Retail Strategies works to revitalize communities to drive positive economic, tourism, and quality of life for communities across America.
