The Building Department oversees activities related to the construction, improvement, remodeling, and demolition of buildings and structures within the City of Colfax. Our role is to ensure all projects follow the proper safety guidelines and adhere to current building codes and regulations.

By enforcing applicable building, accessibility, energy, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical codes and laws adopted by the City and State, we are supporting a safe and livable community for our residents and business owners.
